2010 Dayton Hamvention Forums - A Great Line-up for 2010!
Hamvention is proud to bring you another superb line-up of forums for this year’s
show. The forums are created and presented by amateur radio operators This is
a great chance to meet some of the innovators that continue to push the technological
envelope and improve ham radio, and to learn from the people who are finding
interesting ways to use amateur radio, and to see how the ARRL and other entities
are working hard to protect our spectrum and preserve our hobby from external
and internal threats.
Highlights this year include:
DR. Paul Bernhardt KF4FOR - Dr. Bernhardt is the Senior research
physicist for the Naval Research laboratory. He heads HAARP at the Naval research
laboratory facility in Alaska and Arecibo in Puerto Rico. Dr. Bernhardt will
present a program outlining the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program
(HAARP).
Gordon West will be taking the stage on Friday. Gordon West brings in the latest DSP speakers from Clearspeech and BHI and lets the audience judge which ones hush the noise best. Door prizes will be given away.
Carole Perry, a professional educator from NY will be presenting
her Youth Forum. Come join the fun and share the pride by attending this forum
to support our young talented speakers.
Our theme this year is Amateur Radio Clubs worldwide: “The Life Line”
Hamming in Hong Kong, Dan Van Hoy VR2HF will be presenting an overview of what it is like to be in a club and enjoy hamming in Hong Kong.
Balloon Sat Forum will also be back with Bill Brown WB8ELK. An actual balloon launch will be attempted on Friday afternoon stay tuned for further info.
This is just a few of the many fine forums we are offering this year on many hot topics. Our thanks an appreciation to the moderators and presenters who work long hours putting together these forums, securing speakers, creating slide shows and then coming all the way to Dayton, Ohio to present their information in front of an audience and share their knowledge! The forums staff, moderators, and speakers, like everyone at Hamvention® are volunteers. Make sure you thank them when you get a chance.
Admission is first come first served. There are no tickets and some of the forums can be standing room only or may be limited for safety.
