We provide  listings on our web site and in our program for "Additional Activities" that are amateur radio-related and occur during Hamvention® weekend. Last date for submission is April 1, 2008

Thursday Activities

Contest University will be held on Thursday May 15, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dayton, Ohio.  This is the day before the Dayton Hamvention officially opens.  Don’t miss this rare opportunity to gain knowledge that may take you years of practice, trial and error or lost time to learn otherwise. Friday Activities

 2008 AMSAT / TAPR Banquet will be held Friday evening, May 16, at the Kohler Presidental Banquet Center, Kettering, OH.  Reservations are required and must be made by Monday, 12 May 2008. To make reservations contact Martha (martha@amsat.org) at the AMSAT office from 10 a.m.  to 6 p.m. EDT at (301) 589-6062, or in the US toll free at (888) 322-6728. Presidents Club Gold members should let Martha know if they are planning to attend the banquet.    More info at the website.

International Visual Communication Association (IVCA) meeting Friday at 7 p.m. Holiday Inn, 10 Rockridge Rd. in Englewood.  This is just three miles from the Hara Arena.  Go East on Shiloh Springs Rd, turn Left on N Main St (48).  Continue to the I-70 overpass.  Rockridge Rd is on the Left just past the overpass.  Anyone is welcome to present a program.  QCWA 2008 Hamvention Banquethosted by Chapter 9 Southwest Ohio will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at QCWA Hamvention Headquarters in the Holiday Inn, Dayton Airport which is located at 10 Rockridge Rd in Englewood. Saturday Activities
North Coast Contesters will host the 16th Annual Dayton Contest Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night, May 17, 2008.   Dinner tickets are  on sale now! There will be no Contest Dinner tickets for purchase at the door. A quick sell out is expected. Cash bar opens at 5:30pm. Located at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Official Contest Hotel) at 5th and Jefferson Streets (Next to the Downtown Convention Center) Dayton, Ohio in the Van Cleve Ballroom.

The Kansas City DX Club is sponsoring its annual CW Pile Up Contest. Our Hospitality Suite is Room 525, at the Crowne Plaza, as it has been for the last 25+ years! The Test will begin at 7 p.m. until Midnight! An Icom IC-7000 is the top prize again this year! Only the best need apply!"
